In 2008, Rich Homie Quan "Stay Down" featuring The Stack Money Boys was a local hit in Atlanta. That year, however, Rich Homie Quan was arrested and sentenced to one year in prison. In 2011, he was offered a deal by Tezzy to sign to his label L.O.R. (Loyalties Over Royalties). Rich Homie Quan also formed a group with labelmate Mafio called the No Sleep Gang. No Sleep Gangs first mixtape Money Season was scheduled to be released January 1, 2012, when it was pushed back due to Tezzy's death in December 2011. After leaving L.O.R., he signed to T.I.G.
The song "Differences" was the first single from Rich Homie Quans 2012 mixtape Still Going In. In 2013, Rich Homie Quan toured with Trinidad James. Rich Homie Quan was also featured on Gucci Mane's 2013 album Trap House III on the songs "I Heard", "Can't Trust Her" and "Chasin' Paper" featuring Young Thug. Rich Homie Quan was also featured on Young Jeezy's collaboration mixtape with CTE World #It'sThaWorld on the song "My Nigga" by YG also featuring Jeezy.
